Biomedical Research Grant Funds

These funds are used as "ready reserves" to respond quickly to the latest scientific theories and advances in understanding the disease - in particular research identifying the pivotal chemical pathways that determine life or death for motor neurones.

Awards are made on a competitive basis, with only the top 25% approved for funding. All applications are reviewed by independent scientists and awards are made on the basis of innovation, relevance, scientific excellence and potential for clinical application.

A biomedical research grant would typically cost £200,000 over three years. £2.375 million has already been raised from a Lawson Family Trust and related sources of funding.

If you, your company or trust were to make a major donation to one or more of these research projects, we would happily discuss any wishes you might have as to what you would like the project/s to be named.
